    I interpreted the high-resistance feature in the SW corner to be perhaps a compacted floor or maybe a very dry layer of soil (i.e., the 'sterile' layer between the historical Australian and the Mesoamerican layers).

    The low-resistance feature is the one that is giving me a headache! Perhaps a ditch or a burst drainage pipe?
